Tuesday, May 14, 7:00-9:00 pm, Shavuot Night of Study: Without the sleep deprivation of the all-night study tradition, we will engage in a discussion about what our “What is Our Food Worth?” conversation that was started with Mark Bittman spoke at RS in March.  Nourish the soul with intellectual and spiritual search and nourish the body with some traditional dairy treats.

Wednesday, May 15, 10:00am, Confirmation and Festival Service with Yizkor: Join in prayer and celebrate our Confirmands as they rededicate themselves through this time-honored rite of passage.

    On Shavuot , we feature DAIRY food , in reference to Exodus 3:8 : ” the land of milk and honey .”
    I used to think that the milk was from a cow , and the honey from bees .
    I now understand that the milk was probably from a goat ,
    and that the honey was probably date nectar .
